Medical Malpractice/Tort
For decades, insurers have tried to weaken the legal rights of their customers. They have even used periodic bad results caused by the insurance economic cycle to falsely blame the legal system for their poor results. This has been a particularly acute problem in lines such as medical malpractice and product liability insurance. In this section we analyze why these crises have nothing to do with the legal system and why consumer legal rights should not be undermined during these periodic events.
